The Festival of the Golden Gate is produced by two independent San Francisco
based production companies: BMP Events and Sunset Promotions.
Sunset Promotions, LLC
Sunset Promotions is full-service concert
and festival production company with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Since
the 1998 San Francisco Mardi Gras Ball, Sunset has produced over 500 concerts and 20
music festivals. In that time, the company has earned a devoted following (over
10,000+ registered emails) who have come to count on creative bookings, solid productions,
energetic grass-roots promotion and exemplary customer service. Sunset prides itself on a
direct and open relationship with its clientele, artists, and partners, answering questions
and concerns promptly and directly, building trust over time. The same approach has served
Sunset well in its dealings with city officials, as the company maintains a spotless record
with Police, Fire, Bureau of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and neighborhood political
organizations.
BMP Events, INC.
BMP owner and founder Brian Martin spent his childhood summers hanging out backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, where his grandmother played as house pianist since it began 1925. He got sidetracked for 16 years in the newspaper business as a sportswriter for Associated Press, before press box boredom forced a return to his musical roots in 1993 to produce local shows while also earning his homegrown MBA at the University of San Francisco. For the past 10 years, Martin has developed a niche as a multi-market tour promoter for such diverse artists as James Brown, George Winston, The Temptations & The Four Tops, The Isley Brothers, comedian Ron White and country legend George Jones, with whom he just finished his second trans-continental tour of Canada. Brian is psyched to be involved in the inaugural production of an event much closer to home, about six blocks from his house.
