FESTIVAL RULES
As we enter our first year at the beautiful Great Meadow at Fort Mason, the organizers of the Festival of the Golden Gate want to build a relationship of trust and good conduct. To do this, we will need the cooperation of all those who attend this amazing event. Please work with us to ensure that this event takes place year after year.

Please note that the Fort Mason Great Meadow is land managed by the United States Federal Government. The Festival asks you to please respect the Park Rangers by following all Federal laws, even those that may be more strictly enforced than in your town, neighborhood, or home.

There are no INS and OUTS from the site

PROHIBITED ITEMS
  • ANY Alcohol including sealed wine bottles
  • Pets (except guide dogs)
  • Glass Bottles or Aluminum Cans (of any kind)
  • Firearms, or contraband of any kind
  • Video or Audio recording equipment
  • Violent, abusive, or destructive behavior of any kind
  • The Rangers are NOT 4:20 friendly

RESPECT THE GROUNDS
Please help us minimize our imnpact on this beautiful park by following the following guidelines.
  • Manage your litter. Please be responsible for your own refuse and discard it in trash and recycling recepticles.
  • Take special care to be kind to the grass, shrubs and trees of the Great Meadow to help keep this lush public land beautiful for years to come.

STUFF YOU SHOULD BRING
The weather at the Great Meadow is variable.

  • SUNSREEN
  • A HAT
  • A SWEATER OR SWEATSHIRT (in case it gets foggy in the afternoon)
  • A BLANKET to lay down or wrap low beach chairs to sit on
  • There are no INS and OUTS from the site, so please come prepared especially as it pertains to MEDICATION or CHILDCARE SUPPLIES.

HANDICAP ACCESS
People with Handicap plates or stickers will be provided with free onsite parking (SEE MAP BELOW). Enter Fort Mason site from Bay Street at the Franklin Gate. The first parking lot on your left is handicap parking. There will be a small box office gate where you can check in or purchase additional tickets. The grounds have a paved, wheelchair-friendly walkway throughout and there are handicap accessible portajohns as well as the main National Park bathrooms. There will be a handicap viewing area as well. Get directions at the handicap entrance.
